Job Description Job Title Director MarketingDescription What will I be doing: What will I be doing? The Director of Marketing & Communications for the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is responsible for setting the direction of all marketing collateral, advertising, E-Commerce marketing and Public Relations activities for the hotel, with the aim of generating revenue and supporting business goals. As Director of Marketing & Communications for Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre you will be required to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:Accountable for maintaining the integrity and positioning of the hotels and brand. Responsible for overlooking all communications (verbal and non verbal) directly with the media/press. Possesses a strong ability to liaise across the whole organization Regional, Global and Corporate Head Office team and senior stakeholders within the hotel.Effectively and efficiently developing and managing short- and long-term marketing communications campaigns and initiatives driving direct business (on- and off-line) in support of the properties.Actively monitoring, guiding and supporting Waldorf's Astoria brand standards implementation, alignment/complianceOverlooking the communications & PR strategy for the hotel in line with Waldorf's Astoria Corporate's vision and mission strategy.Supporting the overall business objectives and achievement of profitability.Driving promotions and monitoring PR and revenue generating business units, press and media awareness.Project management and reporting to ensure planning and tracking of projects Marketing and through-the-line communication.Communication and liaison with corporate marketing and marketing divisions to leverage opportunities and keep abreast of developments.Providing a link to corporate advertising and marketing communications on all standards and format guidelines and ensure brand standards are maintained.Evaluating and soliciting new marketing platforms, partnership, sponsorship and barter opportunities to support all revenue centers (Rooms, Residences, Sales, F&B, Spa, C&E).Obtaining and approving sponsorship for events and promotions to increase awareness of the brand whilst creating the right brand association.Co-ordinating and promoting all community relations effort such as community charity programs and other charity events.Working with the Commerical Director and the respective commercial teams to develop and implement the Marketing and Public Relations plan to properly position the hotel within the market.Building and maintaining a relationship with key media contacts both locally and internationally. This includes the coordination of all local and international press visits, and all press events.Working closely with the sales team to recognize promotional opportunities and to create packages.Represent the hotel during major social functions in the city together with the General Managers and/ or Commercial Director.Maintaining and enhancing the photographic library and press kits for the hotel.Managing the relationship with appointed creative designers and other agencies.Maintaining complete knowledge of all hotels services/ features and hours of operations.Maintaining complete knowledge of computer programs and website content management systems according to specifications.Managing online channels and guest replies. Keep them updated and be familiar with Google / TripAdvisor / and others to drive online revenue and awareness. Public Relations Focus: Managing key PR stories for the hotel to define and further enhance the correct positioning within the regional and international media.Actively arranging potential regional and international press trips for increase in PR exposure.Actively seeking and soliciting new opportunities with local partnership initiatives to increase awareness, generate revenue and maximize budgets.Accountable for managing the department expenses related to PR, marketing and print.Maintaining a steady flow of information which favourably presents the hotel, its personnel and activities to the various target audiences.Arranging for news presentations and personal appearances on radio and television. Distributing appropriate information and photographs to selected media.Being sensitive to all aspects of the hotels, keeping business which might be translated into publicity either positively or negatively.Reviewing, editing and auditing all written materials before distribution.Maintaining a database of key media, press and public relations contacts. Attending departmental meetings and designated meetings as required. Marketing Communications Focus: Executing marketing campaigns to drive business and awareness of the F&B, rooms, spa and events department.Creating and managing the marketing communications plan including advertising, printing, radio, direct marketing and e-commerce marketing.Ensuring the correct corporate policy and brand standards are followed for all printed and display materials.Maximizing marketing opportunities including loyalty programs, strategic partners, email campaigns and inform corporate offices of any major promotions.Overviewing and approve the creation and direction of promotional programs for food and beverage, rooms and catering departments.Managing the appointed creative agencies.Liaising with the design/creative team to ensure brand integrity is protected and promotional message is delivered.Designing and planing direct mail campaigns, and continuous maintenance of the hotel website with accurate info/updates.Working closely with the Commerical Director and teams to create hotel rooms packages and pitch targeted media, draft press releases and media alerts accordingly.Managing departmental expenses. Social Media Focus: Managing and reviewing all day to day activities of all social media channels.Managing and tracking all paid social media marketing campaigns.Producing and distributing monthly analysis reports and sharing key drivers of positive and negative trends, tracks and progress on key social media channels.Ensuring that all social media campaigns are in line with hotel promotion and brand standards.Developing and executing strategies to promote the hotel on all social media channels. What are we looking for? A Director of Marketing & Communications for the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:A minimum of 5-7 years' experience in the Marketing field.A minimum of 6 years' in a managerial role.Degree in PR/Marketing with experience in managing brands, creative development and with strong leadership and relationship skills.The role requires an organized, clear thinker who is able to multitask across numerous projects simultaneously.Ability to manage and conclude projects, constructively challenging and inputting fresh ideas and concepts and driving implementation.Aware of markets trends and competitors.Past hand on experience in a public relations and marketing communications role with budget and results driven responsibilities.Skill in developing and making effective presentations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Analytical focus with strong quantitative & budget management skills.Lead and develop high performance teams.2+ years brand marketing experience.Outstanding verbal and written communications skills and the ability to persuade others to consider a different point of view.Budget management.Strong knowledge of all media forms, consumer research and marketing campaign development/management.Creative and a critical trained eye for creative review.It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:Experience with luxury hotel brands Operational experience in hotels/resorts or related service industry Sales experience Nuanced in luxury Multiple language skills including ArabicEntrepreneurial problem solver What will it be like to work for Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts?
